The spreads above and below are from my final university dissertation where we were tasked to produce three-page spread in Adobe InDesign and an online feature on shorthand.com. These images are from my three-page spread, inspired by Mojo magazine. We were given the freedom to be creative. I chose to explore the music industry with the producer Nick Mills, Kyle Simmons from the established band Bastille and upcoming artist Malaki.

I visited Nick in a music studio in Wimbledon where we discussed all things music at length. He mentioned Malaki as a rising star in the industry, and that they are now working on a project together. The online feature includes a video interview, audio clip and infographics.

The story above is from January 2023 that I wrote in my second year of university highlighting an ongoing problem within the healthcare system of Madrid. I have spent many years of my life living in Madrid therefore have seen first hand the attempts from the regional government to destabilise public healthcare and to hand it over to the private sector. This was a story that deserved wider coverage. Read the full article:

This is an extract from a feature I wrote for FromTheSpot. It was a deep dive to find out who would win the Spanish La Liga 2024/25 title. It was a joy to have the freedom to write about continental football, especially from Spain, and to showcase my wide knowledge of the sport. Now as part of their team, I have been writing match reports covering the Premier League and La Liga.

This two-page magazine spread above is another piece of work made on Adobe Indesign as part of my practical production module at university. In this, I write about one of Nottingham’s most under-appreciated figures in history, Watson Fothergill.

The three screenshots above are articles I wrote whilst on a work placement at the Newark Advertiser in 2023. I spent two weeks at there and gained valuable experience of working in a newsroom writing multiple stories every day.

The story above is a feature I wrote about a football academy in Newark-on-Trent. I interviewed former Nottingham Forest captain Chris Cohen and England international Gary Charles.
